Lamb of God

Is there a better way to demonstrate how un-metal you are than to display an extremely poor font choice in your logo? Honestly, I'd rather have the bloody splatters and gothic spikes that metal bands seem to like so much. But no, we are treated to a close-up look at all the "eroded" and "distorted" edges of the font, accentuated by a black outside stroke.

Note, especially, the delightfully un-jagged extension from the middle stroke of the "m" in "lamb."

Thank you! I thought I was the only one who caught this! Maybe they chose it because it's completely ungodly like their music :p Someone shoot papyrus dead before we have another mishap like this one. It's like the London 2012 logo for metal bands over here...

Sorry for the way late post btw. I just started seeing the logo popping up on myspace about a month ago.

I'm pretty sure they use it ironically. Papyrus runs rampant among church websites and christian print media. Being that even their name "Lamb of God" is intended to be ironic, it wouldn't be surprising that they would pick Papyrus for their logo font, as well.

I'm not sure they're subtle enough as a band for irony.
Religious iconography isn't new in metal (albeit awkwardly placed in death metal than in black metal), but I don't think that quite extends to choosing a font trendy amongst church groups, haha.

You are all uneducated. They do it to make people stumble upon the band itself. If you think that they are satanist, you are stupid. At least they still don't go by their previous name, Burn the Priest.
